“Whispers” is a haunting theatrical journey through memory, trauma, and the silenced voices of the past. Set against the backdrop of Victorian England – from a courtroom and convent to the foggy banks of the Thames – the story follows Mrs. P. M. Jones, a woman committed to an asylum after years of abuse and injustice. Is she a victim? A rebel? Or something far more unsettling? This powerful monodrama invites the audience to judge for themselves.
Rooted entirely in historical source material, Whispers explores the brutal power of patriarchy in 19th-century England – a time and place that marked a turning point in the fight for women’s legal and social emancipation. Inspired by the gothic tones of Penny Dreadfuls, the show offers a chillingly relevant reflection on the continuing struggle for gender equality.
This is the monodrama debut of actress Pat Zajac (Patrycja Zając), brought to life through a minimalist yet emotionally charged performance style. MOS Theatre (The Mirror of Stage) combines movement, monologue, and atmosphere to deliver storytelling that is raw, intimate, and unforgettable.
